In 1870, the yellow fever epidemic forced the wealthiest families to move from San Telmo (south part of Buenos Aires) to Recoleta, as it was one of the highest and safest points in the city. Thereafter it became one of the most elegant and expensive neighborhoods, and the cemetery became the eternal resting place of people from high society. This si a must see place if you visit Buenos Aires. Don´t visit it on your own as you will miss alot of information and interesting stories of the people buried in this place.
