Immigrants Hotel Museum

Immigrants Hotel Museum

The Immigrants Hotel located in Retiro, Buenos Aires was built to receive, host and distribute thousands of immigrants from around the world (especially from Spain and Italy) that arrived to Argentina. This happened between 1830 and 1930. The complex was composed of different parts: the landing offices, hospital and hotel. The accommodation was free for 5 days. You could extend this period for sickness or unemployment. Today it is a museum that anyone can visit. It is part of our history.
